About Kathy
Kathy Murphy is a Neuroscientist studying the impact of early experience on neuroplasticity of the developing brain.
Kathy is the Founder and Director of the MiNDS program (McMaster Integrative Neuroscience Discovery & Study) which is an elite Neuroscience graduate program in Canada.
Over the past 20 years Kathy’s research has focused on studies of human brain function, brain development, and sensory perception. She has received a number of awards including an Alfred P. Sloan Fellowship and Premier’s Research Excellence Award.
Kathy has a Ph.D. in Psychology from Dalhousie University and did post-doctoral training in Vision Science at the University of California, Berkeley. She has held academic positions at McGill University and McMaster University, as well as senior positions on federal health research grant selection panels.
