ASHBURN, Virginia, July 10 --

- Colin Kaye to Spearhead Development of Global Sales Alliances

Brainware, Inc., the leading provider of intelligent data capture and
enterprise search solutions, announced today that Colin Kaye, an industry
veteran with more than 25 years of experience within the growing data capture
market, has joined its team as vice president of strategic alliances. Mr. Kaye,
who for 11 years held senior sales and marketing management positions with
Swedish data capture vendor ReadSoft, will be responsible for further developing
the company’s strategic partner base. Brainware expects the appointment to
increase the global footprint of its Brainware Distiller solution for automated
data extraction and document processing.

Colin Kaye’s appointment comes at a time when companies are looking for
ways to save money and streamline their back office processes. Today, finance
departments view increasing efficiency and reducing operational expenses as
their biggest challenges, said Carl Mergele, Chief Executive Officer at
Brainware. Brainware enables Global 2000 companies to process growing volumes of
invoices, remittances, purchase orders and other transactional documents while
significantly lowering processing costs. As part of our world class sales
organization, Colin Kaye is poised to further accelerate our growth in the
market.

Kaye has a proven track record of success within the document automation
sector. He brings a wealth of knowledge around forms processing, purchase-to-pay
automation and mailroom applications. Prior to joining Brainware, Kaye held
executive management positions with ReadSoft, Anacomp, and others.

Brainware has a winning combination -- unmatched data extraction technology and
a proven ability to execute, even in the most challenging economic environment,
said Kaye. I am thrilled to join a company that has demonstrated spectacular
growth when many others are simply trying to survive. Brainware is thriving
because it has found a compelling answer to the challenges faced by the largest
global companies who are burdened with millions of unstructured documents: a
single self-learning, data capture platform that allows organizations to reduce
document processing costs by 60-80% and make the most of their ERP systems
investments.
